What is the process?
After purchasing your service plan, communications and file management will happen within Jupiter Design's Basecamp project management platform. This enables you and our team to easily organize the design process and communicate openly. Once set up, Jupiter Design will send you a questionnaire to serve as an initial creative brief for your project. With that information, we follow a professional, proven creative process of concept development, refinement & feedback, and control art creation prior to manufacturing sourcing (as appropriate).
Does Jupiter Design invest in or sell my product?
Jupiter Design is a full-service design firm that specializes in creating branding, graphics, products, and packaging that solve your specific needs and are optimized to function and/or sell through to your target buyers and users. Developing and executing a marketing and advertising plan is not a service Jupiter Design offers although we are always willing to be a sounding board for any ideas you may have. Likewise, we do not offer investment or financing as a service.
How long are the monthly service plans?
Our monthly service plans are purely month to month so you have the freedom to start, stop, or change as needed. We prefer it this way because it makes it clear when we need to be focusing on your project and it gives you the peace of mind knowing that you are not stuck in a multi-month commitment if you need to make a change. We want to keep your business so we strive to deliver professional results as quickly as possible.
Does Jupiter Design take royalties from or own my design?
No, Jupiter Design has no ownership in your design or product. All designs created by us for you are yours. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the appropriate rights to use your intellectual property (and any files that you provide to us to use in the development process). Jupiter Design has a standard Mutual Non-Disclosure Agreement that we can enter into with your company as necessary.
Is the prototype cost included in the design cost?
The cost for prototyping is estimated for your approval once the final concept and initial control art is completed. In situations where specialized engineering is required to make the prototype, this is estimated together with the creation cost.
What fees are charged by Jupiter Design for manufacturing?
Jupiter Design strives to reduce your manufacturing & sourcing time and risk by offering manufacturing & sourcing as a service to our clients. We have spent years developing relationships with our factories and, consequently, are able to get preferred response times and unit pricing from these factories. To cover Jupiter Design's costs in this process, we apply a sliding scale commission to the invoiced amount from the factory of 15% for orders up to $25k, 12.5% for orders $25k-$50k, 10% for orders $50k-$100K, 7.5% for orders $100k-$150k, 5% for orders $150k-$1MM, and 2.5% for orders $1MM+.
